Hey all,

New here and new to PC/Laptop Gaming. 2 years ago, I purchased a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch on sale and I read it’s just ok for gaming but figured it can get the job done.

My specs:

Intel Core i7 - 4720HQ CPU @ 2.6 GHz

GeForce GTX 960M

7.91GB Ram (assuming it’s 8 GB and that’s what is available to be used)

1 TB HDD with 909 GB currently available

My computer runs very slow and I know that has to do more with the HDD and not having an SSD.

My problem is I just went to purchase PUBG (it’s a game for those who don’t know) and I was watching videos online with people who have the same specs and we’re playing with about 40-60 FPS on medium-high.

I have GeForce Experience and with my now new updated drivers, it recommends all Very Low settings and states my Laptop isn’t optimized to play the game. When I do play it, it’s very laggy, takes forever to load where I’m missing a lot the crucial jump into the game and sometimes I’m already killed by the time I’m ready to play. My FPS sucks.

Now, I understand completely if my laptop is just not built for the game, but is there something I’m doing wrong that anyone can help me with? I would genuinely appreciate it. I was able to play GTA 5 with pretty great settings (I believe medium-high, some ultra) while also having added in Mods so I’m confused as to why this game is barely playable on Very Low settings.

Thank you

Sounds like shroud killed you with a pistol on a rooftop.

Missing the jump is on your SSD. As for framerates, you're on a 960M inside some extremely small spaces. I run PUBG on a Quadro K620 (GTX 745) and I get 30 FPS at all low settings on 1600x900. That's with ample airflow. Imagine a similar graphics card trying to achieve the same settings and framerate.
