How to limit ram usage?

Hello I have a problem when I use a calculating program on one of my PCs the ram usage goes to 100% and it freezes but if I use the same program on my other PC it somehow remains below 40% and steady. The first PC is much more newer and powerful than the second one + it uses Win10 compared to the other which is still using 8.1. Any ideas what could be the problem?

both have the same amount of ram?
sound like issue with the calculating program. it is up to date? contact the developer?

The 1st has 16gb dual channel the second has only 12 four channel.

task manger see all 16 gb?

And it gradually goes up to 100% and the program freeze.

What caught my eye is that "Committed: 32GB" I have only 16GB.
