How to make sure this software doesn't have virus?

I would very much like this Adobe Audition software, and it's posted here at Tom's Guide. But how to make sure it doesn't have adware, virus or other unwanted stuff to it?

As we say "If seems too good to be true ..."

The software normally costs hundreds of dollars a year, and I assumed to get it for free I'd have to go to the pirate bays of the world wide web.

It said shareware. And we don't support pirated software

Okay, so it's like a demo I can keep for some weeks and then to keep it working I would have to purchase the product. I wouldn't mind paying for it, but a subscription would be rather expensive.
