OK the RX-V2085 is a receiver not an amp and it makes a difference to your question.
With a plain amp, you can often use a smart power strip, it senses TV on, sends electricity to amp. Receivers however, they are designed to be plugged in and receiving electricity at all times, so to allow your remote to function.
Next question to you is, so you never use the receiver for audio only?
This guy use a universal remote with macro function so I can do both, TV+Receiver, or Receiver only.
