How to reduce fan speed

Hello,
i am just wondering how to reduce the speed of the fan on my toshiba satellite model. Its two years old, 4gb ram and 500gb harddrive. Also. I cannot seem to get rid of a major latency issue. I can hear intense interference from speakers. Thanks.

Yeah... Not to be rude... putting down the fan speeds on a laptop is like shooting yourself in the head. You'll just make it die quicker, and run hotter. It takes an experienced overclocker to know what to do... And, on laptops, it hard to find a utility that allows you to control the fan speeds anyways...

Why don't you try cleaning the laptop vents with compressed air? How about you replace the thermal compound? By doing that, the laptop will last longer and won't be near as hot.. .meaning, the fan won't need to run so high.
