Probably only by going inside and doing more damage than you need. Just stroke the screen downwards from the top and press teh Wi-fi box. That turns it off.
You'll probably get nag screens about it but you'll get used to them.
If you're security minded, do the same with Bluetooth - it's a far greater threat.
