How to reset hard drive password.

I have a laptop its Acer travelmate 6292 which is given by a friend. I tried power up the laptop but I access because it requests for a hard drive password... I don't know the password? can anyone help on how to rest the password?

Resetting a HDD password is NOT possiable.

if its a bios password, then sure. if its a windows password then sure.

HDD password. sorry replace the HDD.
