Try Kingo Root (not the same as Kingroot) which you download to your Windows system and connect the phone via USB. First you need to look in the phone's settings for Build Number and tap on it seven times to become a Developer.

Once you can see an additional menu named Developer Options, you can change the USB settings to allow conversations wih the PC.

That's when you hit the button on the PC to run Kingo Root.
