How to setup headset mic with laptop?

Hi, I have HyperX Cloud's and I've done everything they've said to connect the headset to the laptop (connect to a split connector) and put it in the audio jack. The mic for the headset is detachable but when I put it in and go to sounds > recording, the only available option is laptop microphone even when I enable disabled connections and disconnected connection by right clicking

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to make sire that you're using the correct splitter for your headphones.
- Next is to uninstall/reinstall the Sound Card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound card driver.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do test it again.
- If it will still not work I would suggest trying a different audio splitter.
