How to tell if laptop is 14inch or 15inch

i just asked my friend if he is having 14inch or 15inch laptop.

He asked " how to check if its 14inch or 15inch" ???

He is using window 7

measure the diagonal length of the screen. top left corner to bottom right corner, that's the size of laptop;
alternatively you can search the make and model to find the dimensions on a review or something.
