If you didn't have software in the phone to trace it, you can't do it. Contact your Service Provider and they might be able to tell you where it was when it made its last call.

You must conrtact them anyway or they wll charge you for any calls or mobile data the finder or the thief is making. You're responsible for that bill until you notify them of its loss.
