You should have a specific driver for the touchpad. You should be able to disable that through the Control Panel. If not, you could download from eMachines web site. Lastly, if you have the driver loaded, go into the Device Manager and Disable the device. I don't know if you might lose functionality of any other pointing devices.

Or you can use the "fn + touchpad off" function on your keyboard, if there is one on your keyboard.
