How to unfreeze an acer laptop.

My niece's computer is running very slowly and we both wonder why. Why tried ctrl+alt+delete, we tried ending tasks... We tried everything! Please help, thank you.

Hello sirfused, could you tell me what OS the laptop is using please? Also, do you know what CPU and how much RAM is installed?

install SPYBOT and ADAWARE
1. in spybot go to "advanced mode" and UNTICK all programs excluding one(antivirus). even if it says Microsoft windows , untick it.
2. in ADAWARE run smart scan. and than another full scan and leave it overnight(might take even 5-7hours depends)

I do not know about the OS and as I type this message it is using 38% RAM and 17% CPU but changes quite often. When I do nothing it is 38% RAM and the CPU keeps changing from 5% to 25%. Thanks
