Question how toget a tablet to work as a hdmi monitor

i have 2 tablets and i have a nvr card that i have to test to get working. i have a monitor but that is in use on another system and this card i need to configure
so can i just plug in the hdmi from the nvr card to the tablet and have the tablet work as a monitor? or do i need to get some app for that.

Pretty sure the HDMI port on your tablet is output only. Check the specs.

thanks i did some more looking and i believe it is. so it looks like they can't be made into a monitor. so i tired my chromebook and that will not work either so i guess i have to get another monitor just to setup this nvr against the other one. again thanks for the help
