HP 2000z-2d00 Notebook PC for 8-year old??

We are thinking of buying the laptop below for our 8-year old son. He will use it for school, but he also loves to play Minecraft. My husband is hesitant to purchase because of the AMD processor. What is the difference? Would this be a good choice?

Low end AMD Dual Core CPU @ 1.48Ghz + Radeon HD 7310 GPU.

Fine for a light office type machine and GPU will play minecraft.

$349.99 is a bit steep for this class of machine.

I would prefer to have this one ..

The AMD E1-1500 is a pretty weak CPU and is meant for a netbook or a very basic laptop. It is good enough for basic tasks, but is considered under powered for games; even for MineCraft. It is basically part of the weakest AMD CPU family you can buy.

What is your budget? Can you wait until Black Friday / Cyber Monday?

We were hoping to stay around $350. I have actually been waiting for the Black Friday ads to come out so I can preview them for computer deals! Any suggestions for that price range? Thanks!
