Hi everyone,
I have an HP Compaq nx9030 notebook and the HDD has died on me last week. Its making a grinding noise and the OS is not booting up and I can't read the contents of the drive when I boot a Linux LiveCD. According to the quickspecs (http/h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11997_div/11997_div.HTML) it takes up to 60GB 4200rpm HDDs, but they are very very hard to find nowadays here in my country. So I'm wondering, if I put an 80GB or 120GB 5200rpm HDD, will the notebook read it normally or will there be issues just because of the size? Thanks in advance for your attention!
