you could keep both.
remove the optical drive and install a HDD tray in its place, then install the SSD where the HDD was installed and you can boot off of the SSD and have the HDD as storage. the DVD may have a slower bus so you will want the HDD there and the SSD on the fast bus. do not put ssd in tray.
example only, shop around, measure twice cut once. trays available in different heights get the right one.

that being said I would not spend any more money on that laptop. the c-60 is a terrible performer and, IMHO any money spent would be a waste/not full utilized.
