i currently have a HP Dv6605us, with vista 32bit, AMD X2 1.6ghz, 2gb RAM, Geforce 7150, and 160gb 5400rpm hard drive.

the laptop has trouble with multitasking, and im thinking of adding these components.

i also want to add windows 7 home premium 32bit

this will give me a faster hard drive and more RAM, and a new OS. The OS i have lying around, so will the $115 cost be worth the extra speed? i dont plan on gaming with this laptop, i just expect fast load times, fast booting, and snappy performance overall.

Hello ryohei;

More RAM and a faster HDD will help - but not solve - your performance problem.
And $115 is about about 25% of the cost of a new laptop that will handle multi-tasking nicely.

That new HDD could move over to a new laptop if you find the upgrades don't help as much as you expected (this would be my guess). But that DDR2 RAM won't be usable in your next laptop.

if i was to get a new laptop, it would probably be in the $1000 dollar range, with i7, dedicated graphics, 6gb of ram. so its either that laptop or upgrade. would most of the computer's problems be solved by the added ram, faster RAM, and new OS?
