HP Laptop Battery Plugged In Not Charging 0% Battery Problem

A couple of weeks ago I ran into the plugged in not charging problem soo many people have experienced. I went through the most popular solutions, taking the battery and AC out and holding the power button, uninstalling the ACPI and checking for updates. I even bought a new battery which came with a bit of juice that kept me going for a little while at work before it tanked to 0% today. I went to a HP store and tried another charger and that didn't work either. I'm afraid that it may be a motherboard issue, and at the moment I cannot really afford the expensive bill that will likely follow from taking it to a computer repair shop.

Are there any other solutions that may work?

It does sound like it is the charging circuit on the motherboard.

However, if you are comfortable doing the work yourself, it would be a lot cheaper to fix than to pay someone else to do it.
