Solved! HP Laptop Screen broken

My hp notebook model 15-ay laptop screen shows everything in grays with large shadows. When I press at the bottom of the screen display it reverts to normal while I am pressing. Will replacing the screen help, or is there another part I should be replacing?

It could be the display or it could be the cable that connects it.

Before buying any parts I would check to make sure that the cable isn't loose on either end. Next check the cable for damage. If it is damaged, then start with replacing that. If it isn't damaged then you may well need to replace the display itself.
