I recently bought an HP pavilion laptop (15-p142na) and ive found the performance to be very poor when you look at the hardware.

I have amd quad core processor, 8gb ram and dedicated graphics. I know its not a super computer but i have seen benchmarks of the card and mine is not performing anywhere near that level.

I notice lag when switching between applications and sometimes very high disk usage and cpu usage, occasional freezing as well.

I have tried running team fortress 2 but i get very bad fps with it and constant freezes (again i know its not a gaming rig but it SHOULD be able to run tf2 at a decent frame rate)

I am running a clean install of windows 10, upgraded from windows 8.

I also have the latest drivers from the HP website as the AMD catalyst drivers werent as recent as these ones. i have also have the most recent updates to the soundcard

If someone could give me advice about whats wrong that would be appreciated.

Also please dont reply saying stuff like "amd sucks" or "dont game on a laptop" its not constructive

i also just tried disabling the integrated graphics, but then i get an error saying there is no graphics driver and i have to reenable the integrated graphics

SSD or HDD, if HDD which model? HP and company are notorious for decent hardware hampered by a 2000's era slow ass hard drives. I had a nice Asus that woke up nicely from an SSD install.
