Hey guys,
I'm sure you have already looked at this problem but unfortunately, I have yet to find a working solution after months of looking. The overall problem I've been having is that simply, my new HP Pavilion laptop used to run fine but after 7 months, it runs worse than my old Toshiba Satellite. These problems started occurring as early as 4 months into having the laptop. As an example: I used to run Skyrim on medium setting just fine with no lag at all but now the lag is unbearable at even the lowest settings possible. I have tried just about everything I can think of and I have delved into every forum I can to try and find a solution to this problem. I paid $840 for this machine and I see no reason why it would die with under a year of use.
Also, I know this is not a gaming laptop by any means but there is no reason why it ran it before and now it can't run it again.
Things I have tried:
-Factory reset of my laptop
-Defraging (multiple times)
-Dust Clean-Up
-Clearing Temp files
-And other various little "fixes" that have not worked
Specs: (Note this is a customized laptop)
17.3-inch diagonal Full HD WLED-backlit IPS Display (1920x1080) Touchscreen
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
Backlit Keyboard
8GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM
Intel 802.11ac WLAN and Bluetooth(R) [1x1]
HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone
Windows 10 (It came installed with Windows 8)
4-cell 41WHr Lithium-ion Battery
SuperMulti DVD burner
AMD Quad-Core A10-8700 Processor + AMD Radeon(TM) R7 M360 2GB Discrete Graphics (FHD display)
I am running AVG anti-virus on this machine
Side notes:
-I often notice that my disk capacity is maxed out on idle
-I am extremely careful when handling and moving my laptop. Drops are not the issue
-My laptop often puts off an impressive amount of heat when playing even basic games such as Minecraft or even small Flash games off of the internet
If I cannot solve this issue my only other option is to sell it and buy a new one which will most likely end up in me losing money, something I am trying to avoid.
If anybody has any ideas I am more than willing to give them a try!
Thank you for your time
