Hello,
I am trying to decide between an HP Pavilion dv6-6c53nr with i5 and a radeon 7690m xt

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/pd/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6c53nr/productID.243730200/vip.true

and a dv6z-7000 with amd A10 and a radeon 7670m.

The amd laptop should be able to hybrid crossfire to get better graphics performance than the intel, but an i5 has more cpu power.

The intel is $800 while the amd is $830 and both are eligible for a free xbox when ordered. What do you think?

They will both offer similar GPU performance, the 7690m XT being a bit better, according to specs and benchmarks, but the AMD cpu notebook will be able to get much better battery life because it can run on the integrated gpu. Both GPU's are in Notebookcheck's Class 2, which means they should play games, just not close to full settings at all. It is basically battery life vs. CPU performance.

It would help if you would give a link to the other laptop mentioned.

Take the charts as a guideline, not a final say. Benchmarks are never perfect.

First, if you're going to consider the DV6z-7000 as an alternative to the DV6-6C53NR, you are going to need to upgrade its display to 1920x1080. You should not buy an HP DV6 in any configuration that includes the stock 1366x768 display unless you require larger text for eyesight-related reasons.

1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and such displays tend to be cheaply manufactured LCD panels with very poor image quality due to low contrast.

Both are configured with 1920x1080.

I have the Dv6 with the 7690m xt. I cant play BF3,Skyrim,Dead Space 2 all on HIgh with little to no lag.I love the laptop right now,the only downside is the lack of driver support for the graphics card.If you want to buy this laptop you HAVE to switch the graphics to Fixed and get new drivers from some Russian guy or the 12.6 preview from somewhere which was a hassle and i disliked it but everything works well.Only complaint is that i have to manually switch between graphics but that's okay with me.A extra 30 bucks might get you a better gpu which at the end of the day is what matters in gaming.Rarely will the CPU hinder you before the GPU, although the crossfiring might be a problem in some games.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.
