HP pavilion entertainment dv 2500 problems

wh does my HP Pavilion Entertainment dv 2500 keep switching off and ? overheating during use?? The laptop is 2 years old

Thanks, thought it might be that, but removed cover and no sign of any dust...and if it is dust, can anything be done anyway?

Well, yesterday I saw a laptop cooler in the supermarket, did some research and went to my super local computer shop www.scan.co.uk (they do mail order, are based here in Bolton, UK and are so knowledgeable, do try them) and it's like a miracle.......I can even use the laptop on my lap, no over heating, it uses a USB but has 2 spare USB hubs of its own. It is a Cooler Master NotePal, only £16. Thanks for your suggestions by the way
