I have an HP Pavilion G6 1B50US. Stopped turning on, I overheated, and it turned on, and I backed everything up. I bought a new motherboard, installed. Still the same thing. Bought another CPU, still the same thing. I pulled the hard drive, and turned it on, still the same thing.

The number locks light is on, and the caps lock light blinks once, waits 4 seconds, blinks again, and is continuous. It repeats the 1 blink code indefinatley. It doesn't stop after 4 or 5 times to mean CPU issue. The only thing I could think of is the seats to the CPU, but that can't be bad on the new mobo as well...

Solution
I don't know about blinking codes but ... have you tried connecting an external monitor and then turning it on? And/or - try booting from usb or dvd.

I tried to, but since I can’t even get into boot menu, I haven’t been able to load my bootable USB with Ubuntu. I am trying the overheating test, but that wood mean another bad MOBO, or something else? Same issue on 2 separate MOBO’s seems doubtful. I am going to try a different HDD, but it should pop up with no OS found if the HDD was the issue.

Read somewhere about a bad keyboard as a possible issue. Going to try a USB keyboard as well. Will post with progress.
