HP Pavillion dv6 Power problem

Hi,

I've got an HP Pavillion laptop, dv6-6121, that died on me this morning. It has no power to it at all, ie no lights come on at all and nothing tries to start up.

I checked that I have the correct voltage getting to the laptop, and took the laptop apart and verified that the DC jack is actually getting power to the motherboard.

Does this mean that the mother board is bad? Let me know if you have any thoughts/recommendations.

No activity whatsoever is usually either power related, or a failed board. How did you verify the DC jack works?

I pulled the connector where it plugs into the motherboard and checked it with a multimeter, was able to get the same dc voltage that I was getting when testing the power cord.

Ah, okay. Likely a bad board then; not sure if it's the solder joints or the PCB, though I'd lean more towards the latter.
