I have one of these - I added some memory (total of 6GB now) and it's multitasking ability was hugely improved. For $179 you can not go wrong - it's an amazing little PC and all most people need.

This review and performance test seems very bias or very inaccurate. The NUC is $250 barebones (no memory, hard drive etc). To get it into working condition you need to bump that up to 500-600. You installed 8gz of Ram on it and ran it against the HP with only 8gz. If you wanted to do apples to apples you should have installed 8 gz on the HP or 2gz on the NUC.
