I bought the phone online on Thursday, it arrived on Friday. I read comments of backorders, but I don't see any such issue so far. It feels like advertisement, 'cause I heard from a tech guy in the radio that droid incredible got far less attention than iphone.

I just got the moto droid in the beginning of March, I kind of wish I would have known about the incredible before I bought the moto droid or I would have waited.

Even though I have my moto droid rooted and AFIAK the Incredible isn't rooted yet since it just came out, so there's one for the moto. Another thing is the physical keyboard is great for playing roms if you buy the gamegripper, so that's another one for the moto.

Great phone, but unfortunately in the North Carolina Triad area Verizon has dropped the ball. The SPL file being programmed to the phone is constantly rebooting the phone.

Looking forward to all the youtube reviews - including, hopefully, some nice outdoor full sun screen shots and how well it picks up signal compared to your other phones.

Love my Omnia, and considered an Omnia II (since it is not Windows Phone 7 but 6.5, and I do multitask with my phone) - but this phone is making me reconsider.

As to those who complain about the $30 you pay for the required data plan - would you really want to get slammed with the per kb charges they would do to you otherwise? Once you have a web-capable smart phone, most will start using it. Its kind of like how most people get $20 unlimited texting due to horror stories of five figure phone bills.

Why do people love these phones anyway? Most of the people probably buying this kind of crap are probably techies and enthusiasts who are usually at home near their laptop or PC.

As for me, I like to stick to my crappy 25 dollar Nokia phone that has lasted me for 5 years and use whatever computer is near me for the rest of my operations. I mean these phones are cool, but why not spend that money on a better PC that can do more? Thats just my opinion.

In before I get hit by all smart phone buyers 😛

Yes, if you spend 100% of your time in-doors, next to an internet-connected PC, you probably don't see the appeal of a smartphone. Some of us however, spend time traveling, away from steady net connections or even away from PCs altogether for *hours* at a time... or even, gasp, *outdoors* where there is not even electricity much less wired internet! Apparently I am not alone in this category either, seeing as how smartphones are selling by the million.

Per kb data plan vs. unlimited for $30;
This is a bargain. Where they're really reaming is for texting! Average text = 1/500 of the bandwidth of a 1 minute voice call. IOW you can fit 500 text in the same amount of data required for a 1 minute voice call. So if they're charging $79 for 900 minutes, that would equal 450,000 texts!

$20 for unlimited text is BS!!!
