I will be needing both rhino and matrix software for doing jewellery designing. I wanted to know which laptop will be suitable for running it efficiently. Mac or windows??

Solution

I would go with the 15 inch dell due to the size. Doing 3D on 13 inches is a nightmare. Also I don't know if Rhino supports scaling so you may want to check it out if you plan on getting the mac with retina display.

Which software stack are you most familiar with, Apple or Windows?
That is the real deciding point. Rhino works with either, but which do YOU want to use?

Hardware performance? That is all down to how much you want to spend.
Why a laptop?

I am familiar with both. But the thing is that some are saying rhino 5 for mac doesr not contain all the commands that are found in rhino 5 for windows. I just wanted to be sure because i will be using both rhino and matrix

Rhino was originally just a Windows application, so the Mac port might not have everything. I do not know this to be true, however.
(I've been using Rhino for years)

Pretty much anything with an i5 or i7 CPU, and sufficient drive space, that fits in your budget.
There are thousands of laptops and configurations. If you were to list them all, anything in the 'top third' would work for you.

Dell's are good devices. Go to Dell.com and configure one.

The dell is more than capable of doing the job. Which mac are you referring to?
