I can not boot up and need the recovery sftware to boot up on start-up
Contact Toshiba.
Thank you, I did that but I admit I was looking for a free solution, they unfortunately want to charge me.
This is typical.
When the laptop was new, it offered/prompted you to create a recovery DVD, for free. In the rush to use the new toy, few do this.
Possibly that partition and function still exists?
If yes, you can still do it.
If not...pay Toshiba.
You can fix it but you have to know many tools to use.
First u must download a bootable live cd about what you have realese of windows.
use CMD at live cd running on your pc and fix it on BCDEDIT command.
Retype it and unplug live cd, restart your pc and see what happened.
