I am unable to read a hindi document in ms word 2010

I am using Windows 10 and MS Office 2010.
Recently I received a doc file in HIndi.
When I open it I see only junk characters.
Please guide me to view this file in Hindi.

Seriously, you will need to add a Unicode to give Word the ability to display your document. I still use 2003 so I'm not sure of the menu hits for this but try this Microsoft site https/support.office.com/en-us/article/Choose-text-encoding-when-you-open-and-save-files-60d59c21-88b5-4006-831c-d536d42fd861
