I can't get my computer to go to the home screen

My windows8 Said that it was configuring and then it restarted and the patio setup utility screen came on. I couldn't get it off, so I turned off the computer took the battery out and then restarted it. But it went back to the same screen that said it was configuring. Then it says failure configuring Windows features reverting changes do not turn computer off. What do I do

Pray that it restores itself.

When the system tells you, "Don't turn off the computer" you leave it alone! I've seen it take over an hour for it to complete configuring itself after an update.
