I bought the ALienware m17x !!! I can't believe I'm going to a PC based machine after my great experience but there were a few factors why I think it was the better decision:
Better Graphics power (like no comparison)
Proper Mouse acceleration ! (omg I hated my mbp because of it)
I covered my mbp with a zagg and case pretty much hiding its beauty, dont have to with the AW (noone makes Zagg and case/covers for Alienwares)
In all I think I scored a good deal. Specs are:

Crossfire 2 X 5870 ATI Radeon
Blue Ray
17, WUXGA 1920 x 1200 RGB LED,1200p
I think I did well for $2700 cdn. Got 3 years advanced warranty thrown in and the big orion backpack as well and busted ballz to drop the price even further or I was buying the mac. Funny thing was after I told him no to $2800 I hung up and said sorry and Called Apple... while I was in the 5 minute que time my AW salesman called back and pretty much begged me to reconsider. I said no again and flipped back to apple. He called AGAIN and said FINE to $2700 LOL. I was pretty much on the phone with Alienware/Dell/Mr.India salesman for 3hours. Still a LOT of coin but it was $20 cheaper than a MBP 17" I was going to get with much weaker specs. I can't say I'll miss osx as we loved it so much we have a 27 inch Imac at home so I can still play with imovie and stuff on there.
