Yep, I bought one. Heck, what's $200 more worth of CC debt anyway?

I specifically got the 1.50 firmware, just for the emulation. Oh to have
all those consoles in a tiny little package. 4 of my coworkers have them
now(I'm the 3rd purchaser this week). It's an epedemic.

Eagerly hoping for a full MAME port, maybe before my long flight to
Amsterdam to keep me occupied.

So I assume you're already aware of the KXploit "no swapping memory
sticks" thing. Emulation still isn't perfect (some NES roms will run on
NesterDC on the Dreamcast but not on NesterJ on the PSP, the speed of
Genesis and SNES emulators is still on the slow side, and I have heard
that MAME on the PSP isn't very good right now).

And you don't mention the name of this unit. PSP, GP32, Zodiac, Gizmondo,
Pocket PC, Palm?

Now I see your subtle mentioning of the unit in your topic.

Honestly, there are better and cheaper emulation handhelds than the
freaking PSP.

I'm hoping MAME for the PSP will grow past infancy. Because man would it
be nice to have an early 80s video arcade in your pocket.

heck, I might not even buy an UMD.

The GBA SP with a flash cart and pocketNES comes to mind. My favourite.

Until the crackers can reliably crack the system and make it easy enough to
do for the general public I don't think many emulators will get too
accurate.

Just remember...I think you have to have the 1.50 BIOS in order to use
KXPLoit. If you upgrade the BIOS to 1.51, 1.52, or even 2.0, emulators
probably will not work (even if you use KXPloit to write the emulator
to your memory stick).

I figure that if I buy any PSP games, it will probably be racing games
(RIdge Racer), puzzle games (Bust A Move Pocket and Lumines), a few
sports titles (the major EA Sports games [Madden, NBA Live, MLB,
NASCAR, and FIFA...last soccer game I bought was FIFA for the Game
Gear), and maybe a few RPGs (I hope Crisis Core : FF7 is good...it
should be released by the end of 2006). I plan on buying a few of the
UMD movie discs (mainly action movies and comedy movies...would love to
see some full-length concerts [Pink Floyd, Queen, Rolling Stones] on
UMD...I'm sure "Pink Floyd The Wall" will be on UMD since Sony owns the
home video rights).
