I have a 43 inch lg tv it's been in the shop 3 times for the same issue I believe they said it was a bad LCD backlight. I get sound no picture. Does this sound rigjt

Could be.
If the TV is under LGs warranty they should replace it.
If the TV is under the repair shop warranty they should return you money.
