I have a hp laptop that when I turns it on only goes as far as the screen where hp shows up and the corser does nuttin but spi

Hp laptop that only gets to the screen where hp shows up and corser spins like it's loading up but does nothing. It then goes to where the laptop try to fix itself but then I only get a black screen. I have no other pc or anyway to download anything onto a stick to try an repair it does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this....tks

Laptop wont go past screen where he shows up all the corser does is spin like it's trying to load up and then the pc try a self repair and then all I get is a black screen. Anyone have a idea what's going on and how to fix it? I don't have another p.c to download another copy of windows or to put anything on to try and fix not even sure if that would do it........tks
