I have a laptop Toshiba. was downloading a program aND THE SCREEN WENT BLANK. cant get anything on it at all. Turn on and off

I was downloading a program and the screen went black and has stayed that way. It is a laptop Toshiba. I turn it on and off and nothing changes just stays black.

insert the windows dvd and try the "Repair" option
if this doesn't work, ask a local technician or better the laptop's vendor

What happens if you connect an external monitor? Does everything stay blank?
