When turned on it stays for a while and then the display is off and the power is still on. Can anyone please help me?

How good are you in electronics? Do you have any electronic tools? Can you read schematic? Do you know how not to be electrocuted?

Find where the closest TV repair shop is around you, and bring your TV there.

Assuming you've answered "Yes" to all my questions above - searh for "your-tv-model service manual", "schematics", and start troubleshooting. You'll be probably surprised that Sharps makes many many 220V TV sets...
