Swich it on today and the screen whent to screen saver. Then the screen whent black and no noise from fan dose this meen the laptop has had it. Thanks

If it still gets power, try resetting the NVRAM (power it off, pull the battery and charger out, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds). If it continues after that, you might be looking at hardware failure, minor or critical.
