I have comcast xfinity, per their instructions, I added a splitter to send 1 end to TV, works well but cannot connect regularc

I have Comcast Xfinity, they had me install 2 way splitter to their wall access point. The HD TV works but with only the cable coaxial connections, must I buy a coverter box to insert coaxial cable and insert the hdmis into the computer box. Please help me ..... 74]

You need a cable modem for the computer. http://mynewmodem.comcast.net/
They didn't send you cable modem when you sign up for internet?
