I have sound on my tv but no sound on my PC.

I have connected my PC up to my TV I am getting sound through to my TV,but when changing back to PC only I have no sound coming through my PC.

By which method are you connecting your PC to your TV? and when it is not connected, what method are you using for playing sound?

Probably you are using the hdmi as sout output device.
