I keep trying to register my magic remote to lg tv it turns it on and off but keeps not registering even when I press the back

Which LG TV model is it and which remote model is it?

Did you reset it like in this video? Press the Home + Back button simultaneously till the red power is blinking twice (5 seconds), after this release the buttons and use the scroll wheel to register.

Eventually replace the battery.
