Using Word 2013, I moved the page numbers on my manuscript from the footer to the header but am left with too much space which the manuscript refuses to fill. Rather it goes to the next page. I have moved the footer down to 0 cm but it doesn't help. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Solution
On the Home tab click the paragraph symbol (backwards looking "P") to reveal paragraphs, tabs, and spaces.

Check for page and section breaks under Layout.

Check Ruler and Gridline boxes under View tab.

Check your page margins.

Look for hidden page breaks via the draft mode.

Not sure how you may have your manuscript formatted overall but the above options/actions should reveal what is preventing the space from being used.

And, as always, make sure you have a good back up of your manuscript in case the formating gets really out of whack.
