Solved! I need help with installing a custom ROM on a Huawei T1-A21L

Hi. I found a custom ROM I would like to install on a tablet but I have never rooted and I do not understand many of these steps. I got the following steps from a guide on an XDA forum but I am uncertain of how to do most of the steps. Steps:

Yes, you can find here the EMUI 3.1 build (Lollipop 5.1) for the T1-A23L model. Build number: T1-A23LC233B117:

About the installation:
I have not tested this as I no longer use the device, but @timea did and found it is working correctly.
If you have the T1-A23L model it might work by just installing the update.app file, unless region restrictions are the case.

Requisite: You will probably need an unlockeed bootloader.

The installation process that should work:

1. Backup all your data and rom using twrp, save them in your pc. Once done flash again the stock recovery. This is not mandatory but suggested.
2. Extract from the update.app the img files.
3. Flash system.img and boot.img using fastboot:

fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
4. Reboot and wait to boot (should not take more than 5 minutes)

Can someone please elaborate on what exactly needs to happen in steps 1-4? I am a bit slow at understanding so I would very much appreciate a thorough and detailed explanation.

That you've waited 23 hours without a reply shows that there are many folks in tis world that can beat XDA Developers when it comes to working with Android.

If you're problem is only rooting, start by backing up any data you don't want to lose. In Settings you should see how to run a Backup but it's best to be but until you're rooted, you can;t use the USB facility to move data to a PC.

I've always used Kingo Root and find it easy to work. https://www.kingoapp.com/android-root.htm

Once the rooting is over, go into Settings>Build Number then tap seven times and you'll become a Developer. Then find Developer Options and tick to become a Developer.

That gives you access in the same way Administrator works in Windows.
