I recently bout an Insignia Headset, but my laptop only has 1 jack and the headset requires 2!

I just bout an Insignia headset and it has two separate plugs, one for headphones and one for the microphone. But, my Dell Windows 8 laptop only has one jack. I don't know what to do! D:

This adapter most probably won't work - it just makes possible two headphones to play same music.

There is a chance your laptop does not have mic input at all, so in that case either use USB headset, or something like that

If you read carefully what it is written "This adapter is not a headphone splitter/Y-cable. It cannot be used to split the audio output to two separate sets of headphones or speakers."

I never saw a laptop without an input for a microphone.
