By default the Orbit Downloader is configured to display a pop-up window at the bottom right corner of the screen whenever any file download process completes or fails. With the help of the displayed pop-up window, you can easily know the current status of the download processes that are active on your computer system.
Under the ideal scenarios, the default Orbit Downloader configuration works pretty well, and no additional user intervention is required to modify the settings. However, the things may differ if you are not always available in front of the computer screen to view the pop-up window.
In order to get notified about the download completion or failed download processes even while you are away from the computer screen, you can configure the Orbit Downloader to play a sound whenever any such event occurs.
The Orbit Downloader allows you to enable the notification sounds for both completed downloads and failed download processes, and it also allows you to set the notification sound of your own choice. You can either choose your personal notification sound file that you might have imported from any other application or source, or you can choose the Windows default notification sounds if you wish so.

Here is what you need to do:
- ■Log on to the computer on which Orbit Downloader is installed.
■Initialize the Orbit Downloader program if it was not already started during the Windows boot process.
■Once initialized, right-click the Orbit Downloader icon in the system tray at the bottom right corner of the computer screen.
■From the displayed context menu, go to Preferences.
■On the opened Preferences box, from the left pane, click to select the Sound category.
■From the right pane, click to select the desired event from the Event list. (Download failure for this demonstration.).
■After selecting, click the Edit button.
■On the opened Sound Event box, click to select the Play file radio button and click the Browse button to browse and locate the desired audio file that you want to use to notify for every failed download event.
■Alternatively you can also click to select the Play system default sounds radio button and can choose the desired sound from the enabled drop-down list.
■Once done, click OK to confirm the selection.
■Back on the Preferences box, click OK again to save the changes that you have made.
■Restart the Orbit Downloader application in order to allow the changes to take effect.
■If the modifications are still not reflected, restart the computer and then try again.
