If just downloading music files (or other general files, not apps), all you have to do is change the settings inside the app that you are using to download through. Make sure it is set to save said files to the card rather than the internal storage.

Now if for some reason that app doesn't have that option, you may need to use a different app that does have this option to do your downloading of the files through.
