I want to send a friend request to someone I unblocked but I keep getting "Sorry, this content isn't available at the moment"

After blocking and then unblocking a friend I'm trying to refriend them. I see their name and beside their pic is a 'loading' note. When I click on the name/pic I get "Sorry, this content isn't available at the moment". They can't find me. When they try to connect from comments previously made on their page it does not highlight. We see previous FB messages in messenger but can't communicate that way either.
Why can't we reconnect on FB?

FWIW, I believe there is a 48 hour "unblocking period" before you can interact fully again.
Also, there's the potential you were also blocked by your "friend".

Thanks. I heard about the 48 hours before one can reblock the person. Didn't know there was a 48 hour unblocking period. It hasn't been quite 48 hours yet, so I guess we'll just have to wait. My friend says they have not blocked me and are having the same issues. Thanks
