I was gifted a Yamaha r-v902 recently

What would be the best way to use this receiver? Could this be used for an all purpose system and what would be minimum amount of speakers needed

It's a pretty kickass Analog system, so somewhat dated, but still good.
What make/model TV do you have..be nice to hook that to it.
As for speakers, the more the merrier. The system can do 5.1 (five speakers and a sub).
You'd want two main speakers at the very least.

Even though it doesn't have digital surround sound it does have a 5.1 channel input. You could connect that to a desktop with 5.1 analog audio outputs and use the digital surround processing in the PC.
