get the first one though the dv6t with the i5-2430M and the 1GB HD 7690M as stated by jessterman21 would be the best if you can get it

if you cant get the dv6t just get the first one but only with a 7690m

in the desktop gaming with discreet gaming gfx card sequence. the A8 has to be in front of the sandy bridge i3. can't you compete a i3 vs an A8 both with the same gaming card?

with a gaming discreet gaming gfx card, say a 7970, core i3 would perform better than the llano apus -

the benches were done with the same 7970 gfx card.
you can, however, champion the a8 with a little trickery and cherry picking - all you have to do is select a gfx card that will crossfire (amd dual gfx(tm)) with the apu and pit it against a core i3 with the same gfx card. for example, a core i3 with radeon hd 6670 will perform less in dx11 gaming than a amd a8 3870k+radeon hd 6670. since the 6670 don't crossfire with i3's hd2000 igpu but crossfires with amd apu's 6550d igpu, the apu will have the advantage. i don't consider 6670 to be a gaming discreet gfx card. imo it's a good entry level gfx card.
